Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join their team! This position is onsite in Channahon, IL. The ideal candidate will field procurement related questions, manage local purchasing requests for indirect (non-bill of material) products, and assist with direct material purchasing requests.

This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage local purchase requisitions for indirect (non-bill of material) products and services according to defined strategies and frameworks
• Screen potential suppliers through basic Request for Information/Proposal process
• Ensure the use of the procurement procedures by internal customers
• Act as a coordinator between the local stakeholders and the procurement organization
• Source and negotiate pricing for all maintenance supplies and services not covered by strategic sourcing agreements
• Ensure all purchased materials and services are delivered on time to support a 24/7 operation
• Coordinate contract implementation tasks with purchasing managers and stakeholders
• Ensure purchases comply with defined preferred supplier program and are in line with defined channel strategy

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• High school diploma required
• 1+ years relevant purchasing experience required
• Thorough understanding of defined procurement P2P processes, supply chain operations, etc.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $24.00 and $35.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
